My closet is a pretty good size but sometimes organization is a problem. A long while ago I hammered a nail into the wall to hang all of my purses on. That worked for a short time but eventually the nail started to sag and the purses would drop off and fall, it was starting to get a little annoying. In an effort to fix the problem sometime this summer I scored a dumpster treasure that would be a really great closet addition. Instead of hanging it immediately I stuck it in my hall closet and forgot about it. Over the weekend I got a little clean crazy and organized my closet, threw things away and rediscovered the soon to be purse hanger. I think I was putting off hanging it up for some long because I thought it would be time consuming or difficult. It was neither, 1o minutes later and 2 screws in the wall I could properly hang all of my bags. My clutches even have a place to sit. No more falling purses!

What simple improvements have you made lately?

As I have mentioned before January is my birthday month. Every year on my birthday I get an Elvis calendar. If I remember correctly this came about when my sister got me one some years back and the couple following years I requested a new one. Eventually I stopped asking and even remembering until I opened up the very familiar looking flat square on my birthday. I used to use it to record snippets of my day. I would never record future events since I had a bit of a silly superstition that if it was on the calendar it would not come to be. It was more like a very tiny daily journal. Somewhere along the way I stopped doing even that and had it just hanging up in my closet and every 2-3 months I would remember to change the pages.

I received my 2012 Elvis calendar this year on my birthday and up until today my plan was to just keep it in the closet in it’s usual place. Then I had a thought. I have been trying to be more active on my blog and plan ahead and so on so I pulled it down out of the closet and planned out blog posts and fun birthday giveaways and discounts through the end of January! So this year my Elvis calendar and I will work together to keep my organized and updating. This will also help to remember to change the page every month!
