WIWW-Does this work?

May 9, 2012

The other day I was going through some boxes of clothed deciding whether to keep them or not. I ran across a few things I was willing to try and reinvent. Please help me out here do they work?

Blue Top: Delia’s years ago ( I do like this top, the color is great)

Blue linen/cotton pants: LOFT last year (I have yet to wear these pants, I can’t decide what top to wear with them and they are too long but does the cuff look strange or is that ok).

Belt: Vintage (also had for years)

Orange sandals: Aldo (new I love them!)

I am really unsure of this outfit so any suggestions/comments would be great!

Seagull top: thrifted (I wore a lot and then stopped but I kind of like it with this skirt, thoughts?)

Skirt: Gap (new)

Shoes: Boutique 9 (I usually wear them in dance class)

Tank: American Apparel (a few years ago)

Skirt: Gap (new)

Orange Sandals: Aldo

I like this outfit the most and actually just wore it yesterday. I love the color blocking and the bold, bright colors.

Have you tried to reinvent anything in your closet lately?

The first outfit is a no, in my opinion. Although, if those are linen pants, keep the pants. The other two outfits are a yes. You’re going to have a lot of “keep? throw away?” decisions to make this month. I got rid of TONS of clothes, but I like having my favorites to pick from every day! 🙂 Miss you!!!!

Hey Steph! Thanks for the input! I feel like it’s the pants that make things weird, do you have a suggestion of how to wear them? I’ve tried so many times with no luck. Maybe I’m too short for them?

I do have a suggestion! 🙂 Do the pants have belt loops? If so, I tihnk a skinny (maybe braided) brown leather belt through the loops with a white, tucked in tank. If it’s a bit chilly, a tiny, opened buttondown shirt in a light color over the shirt, untucked. I’m picturing Julia Roberts in Sleeping with the Enemy here. 🙂
