In my 10 months since moving here making friends has been a bit slow. The few I’ve made though are pretty great. One of them is my friend Emma. She started out as a very convenient friend because she lived 2 doors down from me in our complex. She turned out to be a very good friend and it was nice to call her last minute to have girl talks and watch Gilmore Girls or knit.
A little while ago she found out she was awarded the Fulbright and that she’d be headed to Nepal in August. Pretty awesome right!? Yes and a little sad for me. She drove off toward home at the end of June but a couple of days before that Walker and I had a picnic with her and another friend to send her off with happy memories of her last few days here. I also gave her a tiny Washington state necklace with the heart over Seattle so she could remember her time here while she is in Nepal.
P.S. These pictures of her are so cute! We’ll miss you in Seattle Emma!
Do you know a friend who is moving? A state or country necklace might be the perfect going away present. See more options at shopohsoantsy.
So cute!
I’m sorry Emma is leaving, but I’m glad that you found such a good friend while you were here! And what a sweet gift! Many of my high school best friends live in different states, but we keep in touch and see each other when we can, and it’s always as if no time has passed at all.
Such a lovely gift! My BFF is moving to Asia soon and I’m in search for the best moving away gift and such a beautiful necklace is so good idea. Thank you for the inspiration!
Of course! If there is anything I can do to help please let me know.
