We went to the beach!

March 12, 2013

This past weekend we drove to the beach! We met our friends from Eugene and they brought their adorable dog along. Woo! I’m pretty sure the rest of the week will be pictures from the weekend. I hope you don’t mind.

Our first full day there we hit the beach in the morning and watched as Sawyer (the dog) played on the beach for the first time and took lots of pictures of her. We watched the waves coming in and out, we watched people horseback riding down the beach, we tried to ride our (borrowed) bikes down the beach.

I also made sure to warn everyone not to turn their backs to the sea. I followed my warning until Walker instructed me to turn my back to it to get a picture of our feet in the surf. Guess who got their boots full of water? Right, me. I was soaked and Walker got just a little splash. So it goes. We all had a good laugh and made our way back to home base. I changed and continued to enjoy the sunny day we had been blessed with.

A date in the morning

March 7, 2013

This past weekend we woke up to a beautiful sunny day (kind of rare around these parts). Walker asked if I wanted to go get a crepe. Of course I do, yes. I love when he suggests going out. We walked the couple of blocks to a coffee shop right near our place and chose a spot outside. It was kind of chilly but the parts of us in the sun were warm. I got a chai latte and Walker got a coffee and we split a delicious crepe ( blue cheese, smoked salmon, and kale). Breakfast dates are fun and it was a great start to the day.

Books and sun

February 20, 2013

The sun came out yesterday big and bright! This was a great thing because the day before I was in a mood, let me tell you. I practically threw a fit over basically nothing and I just couldn’t shake that feeling all day. We all have those days. I needed sleep and the sun the next day sure helped. I walked instead of biked to the post office and then sat in the little park near our apartment and read.

When I came back inside the sun was shining on my favorite part of the couch so I curled up like a cat and kept on reading. Then to top it all off I met Walker in the park when he got out of work and kicked the soccer ball around letting off any residual steam. I feel much better indeed!
