Seattle-a day in fremont

June 9, 2012

Many months ago I was watching one of those America’s top food places about sandwiches. One of the top 10 was the Cuban sandwich from Paseo. The showed how all the mouthwatering ingredients are put together to make what looked to be utterly delicious. Judging from the line they say forms daily I knew if I was ever in Seattle this would be a must. Of course this was all before I had any idea I would be visiting or moving to Seattle.

This should go without saying but of course going to this particular sandwich shop was a high priority on my list. Made even higher by many recommendations from both friends and strangers. Luckily we got to Paseo right before a long line formed and only had to wait a little while. We did have to hold our plates for a few awkward minutes while we waited for one of the few tables to open up. Those few moments were so worth it! The sandwich really was just so delicious. Oh my! I could go on but you’ll just have to try it. hehe.

Since we had not been to Fremont yet we strolled around a bit and eventually were on a path that led to a nice park in the area that is next to the zoo grounds. We walked through the rose garden there and a fun path with plants you could smell, touch, and taste. Then we ventured on toward the park and the lake within the park. On our way it started to pour. Like really rain. Up until this point when it rained it was mostly just misty and didn’t last long. I was not wearing the right kind of shoes for a downpour so I was a bit distressed about that but otherwise it was kind of fun. We followed the pathway around the lake to the bus taking pictures and finding some relief under large trees.

We caught the bus home and soon after the rain cleared up and the sun came out. That would have been a good time to be in the park. Oh well we enjoyed it all the same. Mostly.
