April project: take a picture of a tree a day

May 7, 2013

If you’ve been reading along you know I’ve been working on my 12 month project. Basically I choose something each month to do every day of that particular month.

For April I chose to take a picture of a tree outside of my window every day and when the month was over to make a “video” of all the pictures. I wanted to show how it changed slowly throughout the spring which it did but I could have done it better. Walker said to really get the effect I was going for I should have set up a tripod and taken the picture at the same time every day. Well this is real life folks and I didn’t want a tripod in front of the largest window in our place for the whole month. Also things come up or I’m out of town and can’t get the same shot every day. Also I don’t have super fancy equipment to program so this is what we get! I think it’s just fine!

When May 1st rolled around I was trying to decide what my project would be when I discovered this blog. Jenni over at Story of My Life was doing a blog every day in May challenge! Well how about that! This way I could continue my project but also get involved a bit with the blogging community. Kind of a win win hey? So for this month my project will be live as I’ll be, have been, blogging every day with jenni’s prompts. I’m also still doing some regular blog posts. Enjoy! I hope to hear from you and maybe if you don’t blog you can follow along in the comments.

May project: what do you do?

May 6, 2013

It’s day 6 of the blog every day in May challenge. Today’s prompt? If you couldn’t answer with your job, how would you answer the question, ‘what do you do’?

Hmm…

I let my mind wander…a lot. I take walks when I’m in the mood and I listen to music. I work out in the park a couple of times of week. I like to knit and watch tv shows at the same time. I cook a lot and I do dishes a lot. I send my mom pictures of the food I eat. I call my dad on the phone. I think about being kinder to my boyfriend and then forget when I get irritated. I sometimes paint, draw, and sew. I buy little plants and try to keep them alive. I ride a bike when I don’t walk. I play frisbee and kick a soccer ball around on the weekends. I camp and hike and forage in the woods. I thrift store shop and buy things at estate sales. I try to forget daily about a day when my loved ones or I won’t be around. I take pictures. I travel and visit friends as often as I can. I go to concerts if I really, really love who’s playing.

What do you do?

May project: my blogger friend

May 5, 2013

It’s day 5 of the blog every day in May challenge. This is kind of crazy blogging so much but I’m having fun (so far). The prompt for today is: Publicly profess your love and devotion for one of your blogger friends.

I’m going to tell you about my blogger friend Sarah who is also my friend in real life and blogs at Sometimes I’m trendy. I met her when I moved to Seattle through Walker. She is the wife of one of his coworkers. We hit it off as she loves to thrift, throw themed parties, is incredibly sweet and giving and turns out also blogs!

Once she shared her blog with me I would check in and see what new clothes she had scored at a thrift store, what themed party she had thrown, a creative date night she had planned for her husband, or their latest adventure. I always find inspiration in her ideas and her excitement for new things and life if contagious. She’s a real sweetheart and I’m glad we are real friends as well as blogger friends.
