May project: be a little silly

May 8, 2013

Today is day 8 of the blog every day in May challenge! Today the prompt is: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.

Don’t take yourself too seriously. I am often times in need of this advice.

Smile more, if you like the song be the first to dance, sing out loud if you want, give a little shimmy and shake that seriousness off. If the picture isn’t perfect but you like it anyway, share it! If it’s warm out wear something for function versus fashion. Let you hair air dry and go with it. Leave the house without make up on. Walk in the city with your shoes off. Skip in the grass. You’re never too old to do something you enjoy. If something gets you down try and not let it ruin your day (maybe this is the one I need).

Will you be a little silly day?

May project: I’m most of afraid of…

May 7, 2013

It’s day 7 of the blog every day in May. The prompt today is: The thing(s) you are most afraid of.

I really can’t imagine that everyone’s answer to this question is much different. Of course I’m afraid of things day to day but at the very heart and core of my fear is death. I’m afraid of heights because if you fall from a long way up the outcome isn’t good. I’m afraid of deep water because one could drowned. I’m afraid of extreme adventure sports because something could so easily go wrong. I’m afraid of car accidents and plane crashes. I’m afraid of cancer and heart attacks.

What’s even scarier sometimes is that if none of these tragic things happen and we live to be really old we will all still die one day. All the people I love one day will die. I think this thought for me comes up daily. It’s a quick passing thought and it makes me extremely sad but I let it go. I feel like at this level we can all relate.

What is your biggest fears?
