1 year anniversary of running ohsoantsy full time

July 1, 2013

Just over 1 year ago I left my day job and made the decision to pursue OhSoAntsy full time. A couple of months previous to that Walker had accepted a job in Seattle and I had decided to go with him. I think the decision to leave my day job was made easier because in order to move I would have to leave it regardless. This way I could try OhSoAntsy out full time and if things didn’t work out I could job hunt. I’m trilled to say that I have not yet been faced with that reality. Although there are times I wish I was making a larger profit I am pretty lucky to be doing what I’m doing and I’m quite satisfied with my work.

Strawberry picking!

June 28, 2013

Upon returning from all of my Michigan adventures strawberry picking was at the top of my list (although I don’t know how you can top picking fresh, wild strawberries that were warmed by the sun).

My friend Sarah was game so we headed out on Saturday morning and made a day of it. We were blessed with perfect weather, dare I say a little hot in the sun? We both picked a few pounds and headed off for lunch and some thrift store shopping in Carnation, WA. We both got a few treasures (I got lucky at a garage sale-getting really nice wool yarn at $.50/each).

The drive there and back was lovely and I spent the rest of the day relaxing with Walker. It was really nice. Now to plan my next berry adventure. I want to pick all the berries! Luckily I think almost all of them grow around here. Woo!

A glass bottom boat tour

June 27, 2013

The day before I left Michigan to come back to Seattle my dad suggested we go on this glass bottom boat ride in a nearby city along Lake Huron. The interesting thing about some of the Great Lakes is that they stay very cold so when a ship goes down it stays preserved very well underwater. The city of Alpena, where the boat tour is located, has set up a marine sanctuary intended mainly for divers to explore. The boat tour gives people with no diving skills or know how a chance to see a few of the sunken boats. It was interesting but truth be told they could have done a better job. At the very least it was a fun boat ride on Lake Huron.
