Meet my (dog) family

July 26, 2012

I spent the last few weeks at my dad’s house after returning from Austin. I was resting, unpacking, getting rid of so much of my old stuff (totally exhausting but long overdue), and of course keeping up with my orders.

This week I’m over at my mom’s house spending time with her and gearing up for our 13th annual camping trip! Woo! These few days before we head out we’ve both been working hard which for me means hanging out with my dog brothers and sister. Let’s meet the family!

This here is Molly B. She was once the pup of my grandma (my mom’s mom) and when she passed she became my mom’s dog. Since Molly grew up in Texas she loves to be warm and can usually be found cuddling in or under the blankets. She also really likes tortilla chips. She is a bit ornery and typically does not like males and will bite their ankles, literally, if she gets a chance. Lucky for me she likes me and she’s been my little shadow while I’ve been working from home.

Next we have my little sweetheart Petey. He’s been around since I was 14 which makes him 14 and half years old. I just love him to death and I’m so worried that every time I visit it may be the last time. He’s so funny though now in his old age. He can’t walk fast anymore and sort of waddles around, he can’t hear so he just goes walking off and you have to get his attention if you want it, and you have to hold the back of his head for him to jump up on the couch with you (or just pick him up). He also loves to cuddle and be warm. He was also keeping me company while I worked but at times he was a little in the way so I’d just stop working and cuddle with him or Molly or both.

Finally we have Ruger. I think this picture sums up quite a bit and is so freakin’ funny. He’s the youngest of the 3 and he gets so excited if he gets any attention. Anytime anyone goes outside he immediately grabs his ball and wants to play. If you throw the ball he’ll NEVER stop bringing it back. If you don’t throw it he’ll keep grabbing it and getting it closer and closer to you until you finally do throw it. I can only hold out for so long but he gets me every time. How can I say no to his cute face and persistence. This one is great though because he looks like he’s just relaxing with his arms crossed but look at the intensity on his face! Throw it just throw it, go on throw it, I don’t care but throw it ok?!

They are so cute and I love them all! What funny or cute quirks do your animals have?

Vintage skirt photo shoot

July 25, 2012

My brother has been into photography for a while now and I’ve been waiting patiently for our schedules to match up so we could do a fun photo shoot. I’m hoping we can do more but this was a great start! We were both at the family reunion so we took a few minutes away from the family to take some pictures. The last one is my favorite because while we were taking the pictures my grandpa poked his head out of the window of the house and said something funny and my brother caught the shot. Nice!

Family reunion

July 24, 2012

Over the weekend my family and I got together for a reunion. It’s always a good time when we get together and you never know what’s about to come out of someone’s mouth. Most of the time we are laughing so hard we can barely speak. This year was a bit more laid back, as oppose to past years where talent shows and games were involved. We did a TON of eating and relaxing. We ended each night with a bonfire. Oh my family is great and we sure know how to have a good time.

Corn!

Keep the floating roaster lid in the circle game. Haha!

These wigs make an appearance at almost all of the reunions. They are so fun!
