Beach wrap up

March 15, 2013

I have a few last pictures to share from our weekend at the beach.

Saturday night after a day at the brewery, clamming on the beach, enjoying our clams, and playing games Walker and I decided to bike down to the beach to see the stars. It wouldn’t have been quite such an adventure if I had remembered my headlamp.

But alas I did not and since the new moon was nearly upon us the night was pretty dark. We went anyhow. We used our voices to keep from running into each other and the faintest line in the road to keep us straight. It was probably a little dangerous but that made it all the more exciting.

There was a bonfire down at the beach that lit things up but when we went out of the spear of the firelight we couldn’t see anything. We nearly got splashed by a wave. After some long exposure photos we took the dark road back and snuggled up for the night.

These 2 are my favorite. I started in the picture, ran out, took hold of the shutter, and Walker ran in.

Our vintage trailer by the beach

March 14, 2013

One of the reasons I really pushed to have our beach weekend was so we could stay at a place called The Sou’wester. I stumbled upon it while doing a random search on line and I got super excited to stay there. They have a small lodge with 4 rooms for rent, a few cabins, and the best part-vintage trailers for rent!

All the trailers have a vintage vibe and look so cute on their site! We chose a larger one to fit 4 adults and a dog but if Walker and I go back we’ll be staying in a mini one for 2. I love small things!

What I loved best was that it was even better in person than online-things are usually the other way around. They had bikes for us to borrow and even clamming equipment which saved us from buying our own. During this off season it was quite inexpensive to stay.

Of course we couldn’t head out without a super goofy photo shoot.

{I have a few more photos to share tomorrow and then we’ll move on I suppose.}
