Petals in the air…hmm

April 16, 2013

With all these beautiful petals all over the ground I told Walker I really wanted to scoop a bunch of them up and toss them in the air while he takes a picture. He made that sound he makes when I say something he thinks is silly and that was that.

The other morning though while we were taking a walk I saw the perfect tree with large petals underneath and we gave it a go. I don’t think he understood the vision because after the first picture he says do you want them going up or down. I was thinking well in the picture at all would be good (so I don’t look like a weirdo). Ha! We tried again and it was better but still not quite there. If we had had the camera and not the phone maybe. But maybe it just looks better in my head. Moving on.

Over the weekend Walker and I went to see the tulips in Skagit Valley with a couple of our friends. I heard the fields were pretty but I really didn’t realize it was going to be absolutely breathtaking. The colors and shapes were so intense. I think we all just took turns exclaiming how pretty everything was. It was quite remarkable to see so many tulips in one place. Also we got super lucky with the weather. All day rain was in the forecast but while we were in the fields the sun was shining. Perfection.

Walker hijacked my camera so of course he got the more vivid shots but I got a few alright ones with my phone. After we all took our fair share of photos (it was so hard to choose which ones to share) we drove by a few more fields before heading into town for a post tulip looking drink and some food. It was a perfectly lovely day. If you live around this area I highly recommend you visit the tulip fields. Make sure to wear your rain boots because it was muddy out there.

Our easter sunday

April 1, 2013

Yesterday for Easter we went to church in the morning with our friends and then we were invited to a brunch afterwards. We played some corn hole or bean bag toss (whichever you call it), ate some tasty foods, and tried to be in the sun as much as possible. The weather was crazy amazing yesterday. Yeah!

After we ate we took a walk to a nearby park to see a really great view of the city. It was pretty cool. Once Walker and I got home we rested a bit (being in the sun all day is exhausting) but we headed back out to see the sun set. Clear evenings are rare around here so watching the sun set was pretty great. Plus we got a rare chance to get up on the rooftop of our building.

I hear there is going to be at least 3 more days of really great weather until rain maybe? So basically this week is going to be unproductive. Ha! Oh well it’s worth it.
