I am thankful for…(november project)

November 27, 2013

This month I sort of failed to choose a monthly project. I had a thought that I should mention things I’m thankful for each day but almost as soon as I thought that I forgot that. Luckily I have a second chance to complete my monthly project but I’m going to condense it into one day. I’m making the rules and I say it’s ok. Also I want to be part of a fun link-up party!
Thankful Link Up

1. Walker (for everything he does and his constant patience with me and his support of everything I do).

2. My new baby nephew and that my sister’s birth went well and she had a healthy baby boy.

3. My dad for always being around to talk business and inspire me in my work and to also work harder.
4. My mom who has changed her way of eating completely and is proud of it. She has convinced me to follow in her footsteps and I’m constantly needing reminders of why I’m doing this and to be not afraid to be more vocal about it.
5. Almost 3 years in business.
6. Finally an extra room for a studio!
7. Our new place that is quiet during the day so that I have been much for productive in the last few months than I have in a long time.
8. This feeling in me that change is coming and I’m ready to embrace it.
9. Being able to have early Thanksgiving with my family while I was home recently.

11. Living in Seattle even if I don’t always act like it.

16. My for backyard and a having a place to garden (or carve pumpkins).

17. A cute neighborhood to walk around.
18. That crazy sale on a healthier peanut butter cup the other day.
19. All the handmade skills I’ve learned from my mother.
20. My friends that I can’t live near but when we are near it’s as if there were never any distance.
21. Walker’s family living in Texas because it gives us a reason to visit often.
22. Getting to spend time with Walker’s dad and his sister and family recently.

27. Spending Thanksgiving with good friends (the next best thing to family).

Friends in town

November 19, 2013

Last weekend we had friends in town and we kept pretty busy between the things on their list and things we wanted to show them around town.DSC_1022DSC_1026 DSC_1029
^We took a short hike in Discovery park and what do you know the sun came out! We sunned ourselves on the beach and slowly removed our layers on the hike out. It warmed up! DSC_1031 DSC_1032 DSC_1033 DSC_1034
^Then of course we took them Paseo for the most delicious sandwiches and ate them while enjoying beer flights at Fremont brewing company. Mmm. I included the funny faced one of me because we all had a good laugh at it’s ridiculousness and it’s good to laugh at yourself once in while. Also I’m pretty sure I make faces like that a lot more than I make pretty faces so I’m getting real with you.

^It’s just my size! We got doughnuts and coffee from Mighty-O.

^Then we ate them in the park.

^One morning we walked all around Pike place.

After just a couple of days of running around the city we were tired and glad to have Sunday to rest up. But of course it’s always sad when our visitors leave so we’re already looking forward to our next friend or family visit. Who will it be?

May project: a touching video

May 26, 2013

It’s day 26 in the blog every day in May challenge. Today the prompt is: Something you read online. Leave a link and discuss, if you’d like.

I’m choosing instead to share a link to a video I just wanted. A lot of you have probably already heard of Zach Sobiech but in case you have not here is a video about him and what he chose to do with the short life he was given. It’s quite sad I should warn you but also uplifting in a way.
