May project: my typical day

May 15, 2013

It’s day 15 in the blog every day challenge. Today’s prompt are showing photos from a typical day.

Currently I’m visiting family in Michigan so my day yesterday was anything but typical but I’ll share anyhow (also there are a lot of feet pictures). These were all taken with my iphone so the quality is perhaps not the best.

IMG_2015-My mom owns a salon and spa so I went into work with her to catch up on some blogging and try out an easy curl effect under the dryer.IMG_2019
-Then I took a lunch break (leftover vegan pad thai) and read a book.IMG_2022
-Then my mom sweetly offered to give my a much needed pedicure. I read a few magazines.IMG_2029
-I cuddled with my mom’s little dog a lot. We had some good laughs when I put my scarf on her. IMG_2030
-I went to jazzercise with my mom (she goes most days and is a little off her schedule with my visit).IMG_2031
-We made meatless tacos for dinner.IMG_2032
-And ate them outside until it got too chilly.IMG_2033
Then we lazied around and watched a few tv shows.

What’s a typical visiting family day like for you?

The farmers market is back!

There are a lot of year round farmers markets in Seattle but the one that is really close to our place is closed through winter and it just opened the other weekend! Yeah! We visited last weekend and stocked up on vegetables and such but I was most excited about this here stickle-pickle on a stick. I ate it happily all the while dripping pickle juice wherever I went. I’m excited for warmer weather, the farmer’s market every weekend, and of course more PICKLES!

I played croquet!

The other night I played croquet for the first time! I was invited to a get together at a house with a backyard. I miss having a private outdoor space so it was nice to “borrow” one for a bit. Would you believe that 3 of us chose colors matching our outfits completely by accident? It’s true so you better. It was pretty fun but man does it take a long time. We got maybe a half a game in before everyone just sort of wandered off. I’d say I was a close second. Not bad.

They also had a bonfire which was fun and there were talks of having outdoor movies in the summer. Yes please! On the way home my friends and I decided to get a little ice cream before we called it a night. {I got a coconut milk based ice cream and it was pretty good}
