A typical day

October 26, 2012

Good morning! A little while back I saw this post over at Rouge and Whimsey and thought it would be fun to do something similar. I did my best but it’s hard to remember to photograph the major parts of your day when you’re caught up in them. At any rate welcome to my typical day.

7:11 am- I was officially out of bed but I was probably awake since 6:30 because that’s when Walker wakes up for work. He does an ok job of letting me sleep but after his shower he turns the light on in the room so I’m forced to stuff my head under the covers if I want to stay sleeping. Once he heads off to the kitchen I think, oh now I can fall back to sleep, but that’s usually when dishes start banging around because he’s washing them. I am thankful yes but I don’t think I convey when I walk into the kitchen groggy and with a pinched face, scowling. Err…I need to work on that I know.

Anyhow once I accept that I’m up for the day I sit with Walker while he eats breakfast (it’s a tab too early for me). He heads out at about 7:40 am and I have the place to myself for the rest of the day.

8 am-or so I make breakfast for myself (I made a super fancy one since you are joining me today). I then can’t up on some blogs and watch a show on hulu (no tv’s here yet).

9-9:30 am-I get around to showering and dressing for the day. Sometimes this happens much later but I find I’m much less productive in pajamas all day. I’ve been trying to do it earlier and earlier.

9:30 am-12:30 pm-I check my email, work on orders, package orders that are mailing that day, check off things on my to-do list. Not always in that order and not all of these things everyday.

12:30 pm-I walk to the post office. I pretty much go around this time every day because the nice post office worker is there at this time. She’s really nice and will wave at me even if I don’t end up in her line. This is important because some days she’s the only human interaction I have. Sad. I’m working on it, promise.

I saw this nice tree walking home from the post office.

1:00-2:00 pm-I eat lunch! Yeah! This day I had homemade pesto with pasta. It doesn’t take me an hour to eat but it’s nice to take a break.

2:00-5:00 pm-This is where I got a little forgetful (about pictures that is). Usually this time of day is set aside for working on orders for the next day’s mail but I didn’t have anything to work. Instead I replied to emails, I blogged for coming days (this one actually), I signed up for health insurance, I learned a bit about building my email list (are you on it??), I got on facebook and shared some things, I read more blogs, and general on the computer things.

5:00 pm ish. Walker usually arrives home from work and I spastically tell him about my day and how I’m thinking of becoming an extreme couponer (oh did I forget to mention the show I watched was extreme couponers and I had a silly notion to become one for just a moment? Hmm maybe not but some coupons wouldn’t hurt and it led me to find The Chinook Book a coupon book for Seattle in which all the coupons are for local businesses. How cool is that?!).

5:30 pm-Walker and I went to a used clothing shop to look for pieces for our Halloween costumes. I found something and Walker did not. We went to the grocery store on the way home.

6:00-7:00pm- I made dinner and we ate it. It was delicious.

7:00-9:30 pm-listened to the live radio coverage of the Tigers getting beat by the Giants (sigh…), I did some more internet things while Walker studied, and searched the web for random things, read a bit, and watched a little bit of Poltergeist (good time of the year for scary movies and Walker has never seen it).

10:00 pm- We head to bed to do it all tomorrow. Sweet dreams!
