A michigan christmas

January 6, 2014

This year I went home to Michigan for Christmas and for the roughly 5 years Walker and I have been dating this was his first Michigan Christmas! I was so excited to bring him home and share with him some of our traditions. We arrived early morning, after a red eye, on Christmas Eve. It was a winter wonderland and so cold-perfect Christmas weather. Later that day after a nap we met up with my mom and spent the evening with her and some of her in laws. On Christmas day we met back up with my dad and spent the day with his side of the family.

Of course it was wonderful to see all my family members but I was most excited to hold my little nephew again and for Walker to meet him. He sort of look the spotlight when he arrived, both in person and on the camera. But seriously he’s so darn cute!

^The most amazing Christmas sweater that is also a dress. If case you’re wondering there is also a tree on the back. We laughed so hard as everyone posed in this one size fits all getup. One of the better dollars I’ve spent. DSC_0505
^My Grandma Jenny. It was Walker’s first time to meet her and she told me he’s hers now. I can’t argue with that. So cute! DSC_0526 DSC_0536
^Walker and I getting our Lincoln cuddles in. How cute is Walker holding him? I think he wants one of his own even more now. Uh oh.DSC_0545

Great grandma and grandpa holding their great grandson. So sweet.

It was a great Christmas, of course there were some awkward family moments but who doesn’t have those. It wouldn’t be the same without them. I ended the night watching my favorite Christmas movie-Rudolph (a dad and daughter tradition) and the weirdest one I’ve never seen-Cricket on the Hearth. It was totally bizarre and I recommend watching it at least once.
