A cabin on the lake

I adore this little cabin on the lake. This is actually the first time I’ve visited it but I’m in love.

The cabin belongs to a friend of my dad’s and her father built it back in the 50’s. Not much has changed since so it’s a bit of a time warp and that’s what I love most about it. A few things have been added or fixed up along the way but only out of necessity. Her dad sounds like he’s largely against change and I think him and I would get along quite well.

My dad mentioned the place to me one day and so we managed to get invited out since it was a must see. We packed some food and drove out to the lake. It’s nestled, as you can see, in the trees along the shores of Lake Huron overlooking a cove. It’s quite a view from the screened in porch. After a walk along the beach we ate our dinner and finished the night out on the porch talking, drinking wine, and listening to the waves crash against the shore. Heaven.
