Going away volleyball and bbq

May 31, 2012

Walker loves to play volleyball and was so excited to find a group to play with regularly a couple of years ago. He’s become a big part of the “team” as he rarely misses a Thursday game. Over the weekend they threw him a going away volleyball and BBQ. It was really sweet. I played some but it was hot and I was enjoying watching the volleyball dogs. Fitz the doxen is my favorite. We played until the sun went down and sadly said goodbye to some good friends.

My Parent’s Dogs

January 10, 2012

While I was home I got to visit with my mom and my dad’s dogs. I really look forward to this since they all have very unique personalities and they are fun to play with. I don’t have any animals of my own yet so it’s nice to visit with them.

My mom has 3 dogs. A lab, a doxen, and a chihuahua. The lab is still quite young and a bit crazy despite being well behaved. The doxen is getting so old and he reminds me of an old man, I just love him to death. I think my mom got him when I was 16. The chihuahua’s age is unknown. she belonged to my mom’s mom and when she passed my mom adopted her. She grew up in Texas and I think she had some adjustment issues leading to her premature aging (she looks older than she is). The 2 little ones love being warm so I had fun cuddling with them while I was visiting my mom.

For Christmas I made my mom a doxen charm and then of course I had to get a picture of petey wearing it.

My dad just a got a beautiful german shepherd just over a year ago. Last Christmas is when I met him for the first time. He  is so well behaved but when you have a dog that large he must be. It took him a while to want to play with toys but now that he does he’s quite funny. It snowed all day one of the days I was at my dad’s house. Since I was leaving the next day I went outside to catch snowflakes in my mouth and then decided to make a small snowman. Mago came out to play in the snow too and when I pointed out the snowman he bit the head off and destroyed the rest. My dad and I were laughing so hard. I constructed another one to see if he would do it again and filmed it on my camera.

I can’t wait for my next visit home to play with my little “brothers” and “sister”.
