A glass bottom boat tour

June 27, 2013

The day before I left Michigan to come back to Seattle my dad suggested we go on this glass bottom boat ride in a nearby city along Lake Huron. The interesting thing about some of the Great Lakes is that they stay very cold so when a ship goes down it stays preserved very well underwater. The city of Alpena, where the boat tour is located, has set up a marine sanctuary intended mainly for divers to explore. The boat tour gives people with no diving skills or know how a chance to see a few of the sunken boats. It was interesting but truth be told they could have done a better job. At the very least it was a fun boat ride on Lake Huron.

It looks like you were a “trooper” We are from Michigan, lived on Lake Huron for over 20 years in Marysville. We are now in Winter Park, Florida, I miss the Great Lakes, inland lakes and the four seasons. Our daughter just moved back to Michigan 2 weeks ago for her first apartment and new job (finally in her chosen field) she is so happy to be around her friends and family. There are so many beautiful towns in Michigan and awesome places to explore. I hope you had a wonderful time. From the photo it looks like the weather could have been nicer! Hope to talk with you soon. Congrats on your first year of business!
