It’s nice having so many fun things to do but when I get back that means a whole lot of orders. I suppose in this case it also means feeling just a tad under the weather. So I’ve been resting a little bit, drinking lots of water, and tea. I may be starting to feel better. At least better enough to eat Moomers ice cream one more time before leaving Michigan. Yum! The ice cream was out of town at a Maple farm so the setting was just incredible and the maple leaves are just beginning to turn.
Next week I’ll be sharing a bit more of what I’ve been up to these last couple of weeks with my actual camera photos. Also on Monday I’ll be sharing another story! This time it’s a new bride and the gifts she purchased for her bridesmaid to represent a place they all love dearly. Make sure you come back! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Recently I wrote about Walker and I’s Special Night. Basically that we celebrated a Valentine’s of sorts but on the 13th and it was very low key with homemade macaroni and cheese and brownies. Since we celebrated on the 13th the idea was that nothing would be done on the 14th. I tried and tried and tried to be ok with this. Like I said I’m trying to let go of girly idea of Valentine’s Day. All day I was secretly hoping for some small surprise. Maybe some flowers or a chocolate bar? Just saying. So when Walker came over later with nothing I tried to hide my moping but I’m not so good at that. Then Walker suggested a walk over to the drug store cause he was in need of some throat drops (oh yeah he was not feeling well and I was the one moping). He knows I love to take walks so I tried to perk up and be excited about the mini adventure. Once we got there he asked if I’d like to head over to the food co-op and wander around. We hopped on the motorcycle and headed to the store. On the way there we came up with a plan, a way for me to get a bit of a surprise. We would go in the store with a spending limit, $8 in this case, and pick out little things that each other would like. Then when we got home we’d surprise each other with the little gifts. We split up and thoughtfully picked out items while keeping our budget in mind. I had so much fun picking things out and trying not to let Walker see any of them (it’s not a huge place). We had out goodies packed up in little paper bags so no peeks could be had and headed home. We exchanged bags and oh what a good job he did! I told him this may be the first time he’s beat me in gift giving. I was very happy indeed.
(My favorite part! Dried roses from the bulk section-I got flowers after all! )
(He loves mushrooms-I hate them)
(His tea and my roses)
-We had so much fun doing this and I’ve been recommending it to everyone. I think it would be great for anyone- couples, sisters, friends, mom-daughter, dad-son, anyone. It’s so fun really! If this inspires you please let me know your story. I would love to hear how it went!
