In November I was a vendor at Renegade Austin. It was super exciting for many reasons but the top 2 were:

1. It was my very first craft show.

2. It was in Austin-a place I had called home and where my business actually had begun.

I spent about 6 weeks making a display (which was both stressful and fun) and making as many Texas Necklaces as I could. When the weekend arrived I was so nervous because I had no idea what to expect. But as with most things my nerves quickly went away and I just enjoyed talking with all of the super nice people who came to the show that day. Seriously everyone was so nice! Probably one of the reasons I love Texas so much.

It was a super great learning experience for me and one I would absolutely do again. And guess what? Renegade is coming to Seattle! The dates are on my calendar and I will be applying just as soon as the applications open. I can’t wait!

The other night we met up with some friends to see Dazed and Confused at an outdoor showing. The movie is filmed in Austin and Walker and I were both missing it by the end of the movie. Luckily I had one more Austin post planned so I could reminisce just a bit more.

One of the mornings we were in Austin we went to Juiceland to treat ourselves. The menu is full of the most tasty and interesting combinations and it had been too long since I had been. It seems to be pretty popular now because they have about 9 locations all over the city. Crazy! We got a green juice, a refreshing watermelon juice (it was pretty warm that morning), and some beet juice because the color is so amazing.

We sat in the shade and sipped our drinks. I can almost taste them now and feel the warmth on my face and the breeze through the live oak trees. Austin sure is easy to miss. Memories will have to do until our next trip out (I hope it’s not too long though).

Finally the wedding day of our friends Tom and Allyson! It was such a beautiful day (although a bit on the humid side which really only was noticeable when the dancing began). Everyone met in downtown Austin and hopped on a bus together out to Bar Mansion. We were greeted with drinks while we waited for everything to get underway and we caught up with friends as they arrived.

Then the ceremony began! Allyson’s dress was so beautiful and it fit her personality and taste perfectly. It’s always so special to hear written vows. The ceremony was a perfect length-not to long and not to short. And then we got to party! The pre-dinner snacks were so good and they hand picked out all the drinks (including my favorite Texas beer). Then we ate dinner, danced a lot, and ended the evening there with heart shaped sparklers! Love it!

Before the night was totally over, when we got back downtown, we went to a bar (because this group is crazy!). I was totally exhausted so we didn’t stay too long before heading off to bed. So happy we got to share in the celebration with these two. I’m so happy for them!
