Playing in the snow

January 17, 2014

These are back from our trip to Michigan. There was so much snow at my dad’s house so Walker and I took full advantage. He’s only been in snow a handful of times so it was fun to see him explore and be amazed by it. I love snow so much so I was glad he was having fun. I especially like our upside down snowman. I was aiming for a traditional one but Walker insisted his snow ball was the bottom and I assured his mine was larger. Well I was right but we just went for it anyhow.

The last week or so (well ok maybe the last few weeks) I’ve been preparing for ALT SLC and my head feels like it’s all over the place trying to get everything done and in order. Ah! It’s been slightly overwhelming. I’m finally starting to wrap some things up but it’s nice to take a little snow break and look at these fun pictures from home.

Have a great weekend!

During my mini UP vacation my dad and I ran across this: Lakenenland. It seems that no matter how many times we travel to the UP we always find new things to do or see. This was quite the treasure. Lakenenland is filled with sculptures all done by one guy with the last name-yes you guessed it-Lakenen. The sculpture garden can be walked through, driven through, in the winter snowmobiled through. We drove through but I kept having my dad stop to take pictures of my favorite sculptures. There were so many more really awesome ones. If you ever find yourself just outside of Marquette, MI check this place out. If not at least look through the photos on his website.

It’s not often that my dad and I are truly impressed but in this case we were. Well done Lakenenland!
